Leslie Kee
Let's introduce the work of photographer based in Tokyo. Leslie Kee, a name that sounded familiar to us as we noticed a few months ago some gorgeous shots with Lily Cole for a brand called Aula Aila.
Leslie worked for many magazines like Numéro Tokyo, Vogue Nippon, V or Harper's Bazaar, worked with a huge list of celebrities, had an exhibition recently not to forget he did tons of covers. Also check his magazine called Super you can see on his website. Leslie recently published book called "Superstars" will be featured her soon as well.
Now, a few personal feelings about it. I'm love with quite any picture of Lily Cole and she was maybe the reason why it caught my eyes first. But regarding models like Lydia Hearst (not my cup of tea most of time) or even JP (depends of my mood) things are slightly different. And that's where Leslie Kee's works sounded so interesting to me. I simply love the editorial with JP (male model is Steve) and maybe even more the pictures of Lydia Hearst. Didn't recognize her at first sight. I guess because Leslie managed to capture things other photographers might have missed, some expressions and poses that are showing a totally different Lydia. Maybe some other photographers are "just taking pictures of Lydia Hearst", I mean she's rather famous and they don't try to use her as a real model. Here, Leslie Kee simply did a wonderful job shooting another Lydia you could imagine she's a brand new face from Supreme. Brilliant !
