Le plus beau du quartier...

It's been a long long time I hadn't such a huge crush for a model, even if I have crushes for models quite every single day. There was something special going on with Dasha Malygina, she totally captured my attention in her editorials.
But first I should explain that odd title of the article. It would have sounded more accurate to call it "La plus belle du quartier" - "Le plus beau du quartier" means "the most handsome boy around" - if there wasn't that song performed by a female singer. To be honest I don't like the singer herself but love the fact she sings that. And it sounded perfect for Dasha, each time I see her there is a voice in my head telling me "c'est le plus beau du quartier". The rest is history.
Last time I had a crush like that, last time I felt this way it was for Heather Bratton (that I miss a lot). Such a strange vibe, don't know how to put words on it, actually.
This girl never smiles. At least in editorials and I've never seen her smiling in backstage as well. Puts some extra mystery and builds a character. Some melancholy and calm at the same time, intriguing eyes that properly look at you when you open the mag...

Dasha did Prada. And Miu Miu. That's enough said for some people hunting for what they call "Prada material". Don't really consider her as material, rather like a character as I've said above. It's a bit frustrating not to see more of her on the runways - though it's highly possible to hope now that her London s/s 08 showcard has been released - but editorials made me quickly forget this lack of Dasha-vibe on the catwalks.
She's already a favorite of Mixte (editorials are HERE and THERE) and V magazine (featured as Paloma Picasso in one ed, and in "A kiss is still a kiss" in the other one), she also did Vogue Russia earlier this year, appeared in WIG and she's now in Amica (the italian one) as featured above. But still need more. Hope this season will be hers.
