She's a leopard, she's a peacock...

Emma McLaren @ Models1 (London), Ford (Paris), DNA (NY), Why Not (Milan)

...and she's a lady who made an enormous season. From countless shows on her list to her current cover of L'Officiel Paris by Harri Peccinotti where the six above are taken from, she's building quite a consistant book made of runway moments and editorial goodies. The story is full of animal prints and feathers highlighting this wild side of hers which led to some of her best catwalk appearances. Definitely fierce. One thing to remember, now that her S/S 09 blast boosted her career, is how she started in London. Well, she's from UK so it's no real wonder yet it's important not to forget it when many models don't do London fashion week and those who make their first steps there tend to be overlooked from time to time. Back to her current work now. Emma spells with E like in elegance, for some people she'll be another example of the return of classic beauties, for us she's just the proof of the power of a strong gaze mixed to captivating cheekbones and jawline. Leading to charismatic walk and poses which are, after all, more important as being stamped "classic" or whatever. Fierceness has always been Marcelina Sowa's or Alek Yekaterina's best known signatures on the catwalk while none of them looks properly "classic". Categories are made for B-list and Emma is high class. The best example ? Her show line-up despite being ridiculously long (an exhaustive preview would be impossible to do) includes Marc Jacobs, Jil Sander, Donna Karan, Sonia Rykiel, Lanvin, John Galliano (plus Christian Dior) and... Antonio Marras. She must fit into more than one category to match so many different stylings and atmospheres. She's not only a leopard and a peacock, not just a lady. She's also a chameleon.
