Fashion does it Better

The Moon is not Enough

Anne Sophie Monrad @ Modelwerk (Hamburg), Ford (NY) Target high and see what you can get. First advice we could get to anyone. Anne Sophie and her agencies seemed to have high goals and expectations and seem on a good way to them right now. Anne Sophie's face, features and expressions are hard to forget after just one look, they'll be even much harder to ignore after seeing her latest editorial piece (Modelwerk warned us there is some good stuff on its way for her and truth is they were true...) just out in Numéro... Jasmine is Seventeen (but not working on a desk)

Jasmine Yan @ Elite (NY) We've been waiting for her, it seems. Someone like her, at least. A cool girl in development in New York, with lovely polas and inspiring pictures by an inspired photographer. Talent all the way, something refreshing and able to move our own aesthetic lines a little ahead of where they are right now. Elite's Jasmine is just in time, like a quiet breeze who went through the window. By chance, passing by. Playing with the curtain and goodbye. That was for the poetry and the funny rhymes.... Quirine Van Laack @ SPS (The Netherlands) Little Quirine is still heatbreaking with her lovely expression and is growing as fast as her book it seems. Her height is now flirting with 5'9 (currently 175) and her book keeps its pace when it comes to adding new pictures. Last batch was shot by the one and only Gilbert François who effortlessly captured the essence of the playful teenager. Faces, expressions, gesture, motions and emotions. Quite the perfect moment to watch how her career is going, most interesting moment at least.... [Lire la suite]

Milena - Making our Day

Milena Hajzler @ Eastern (Poland) She just arrived at Eastern Models today and arrived by mail a few hours later (or not even). She made their day there and didn't take time to make ours as well. 16-years-old Milena has got this kind of face you can't forget after one second only - eye-catching then immediately haunting. Light speed appeal and limitless potential mixed to a perfect 5'10"5 (179) silhouette. Quite a raw and innocent look at first sight, with this unique bone structure we might have not seen for months and... [Lire la suite]

Riding on Cloud Number Nine

Kristy Kaurova @ Major (NY), Major (Paris) The nineties. The decade we lived without living them for real, just passing by and keeping a few lost memories we're not sure they're really ours. The legends and lost loves from the nineties... Jonathan Leder had the good idea again to send us his latest pieces she shot with another of our favorite girls, Kristy Kaurova who reminds him of the nineties vibes. Something we see without seeing it, depending on which nineties we're talking about. Whatever, we love... [Lire la suite]

Three of Nine

Sofia Luna, Camille and Carolin @ Nine Daughters and a Stereo (Germany) Amica remains the ultimate avant-garde source for new faces among international magazines and after featuring the girls from Silent in their previous Casting series, they focused on the concept agency from Cologne for this new issue. Nine Daughters and a Stereo or how a clear (and clean) image can work out your models presentation and promotion. Snapshots in white outfits on a white background tunes their website where you'll find a very intriguing... [Lire la suite]

Yellow Short Stories

Mihaela Mihnea @ Mandarina (Romania), Major (Paris) You will often hear that love makes one blind. Can be true. Sometimes and somehow. Could be the other way round as well. Too blind to love happens too. Having a good eye is great, keeping it open is much better. Even on Saturdays as good girls don't call before knocking at your door... Well, this is in general. For Mihaela in particular, the story is already different. Signed with Major in Paris, she was exactly the second girl we've met during fashion weeks... [Lire la suite]

Wildfire of the Vanities

Natalie Keyser @ Elite (NY), Storm (London) It took her a second to become one of our all-time favorite models but building a book takes much longer. Months, seasons, years soemtimes as a career needs to be handled step by step. It takes time, good surprises, good opportunities and good-looking tearsheets to build a portfolio which really gives a true overview of the girl's potential. And once again surprises, opportunities and tearsheets came from UK Elle. Once again, we fell in love with the new issue of the magazine and... [Lire la suite]

Be Seen on your own Scene

Merel Zoet @ SPS (The Netherlands) Development goes on, regardless of what the storm will blow away a few meters away from where you (want to) sit down. Some days (some nights as well) you should rather believe in your seat (chair, sofa and even bed) and what your eyes will tell you. Watching Merel's development is quite quiet compared to what happened or may happen for other girls who were at the same place a few years and seasons ago. Changes always take place at every single moment, everything has to move, evolve and... [Lire la suite]

Fresh, Fresh, Fresh

Stella Maxwell @ Viva (Paris) You might be used to our features on Amica's Casting series but now we're all about Dedicate's story dedicated to fresh faces in Paris shot by Alexandre Brunet, a photographer we discovered during fashion week. We loved his work, his vision, goals and, more than anything else, the way he talks about his favorite models. A new way to see models as muses from Freja Beha Erichsen who might have played a serious role in building his aesthetic and training his eye to Stella Maxwell just... [Lire la suite]
