The Somptuous Destiny of Grace Hartzel

Featured on FDIB at the very beginning of her career, Grace Hartzel is pretty unstoppable lately (while we remain pretty loyal). It sounds so basic to say yet we wouldn't find better words to describe her flight path since she took off. Jumping easy-easy from UK or US Vogue to Garage and i-D, already a darling of Vogue Russia and Self Service, she also counts among the rare wizards that would make us love some Teen Vogue spread or an ad campaign (and you may have noticed we're usually not thrilled by campaigns in general).... Nitro

She is l'Amour Monstre. Until nine you can give us the kick and at ten we're gone drinking cheap stuff. We're up at two because it is when all happens, during the night. If she was a cherry, we wish we would be (on the) top to welcome her. Ruby Aldridge is as rare as explosive these days and we didn't want to miss the big boom, the flames, the smoke, all these things, you know. Love may breed misunderstanding but if this is how we can be misunderstood, we sign straight away. To tell it in a shorter way: if we are wrong then... [Lire la suite]

Discofight in a Night-Café

She is the one that makes bangs lovely again, the dark ones. She leaps and leaves the unnecessary smiles outside of the game. She's been photographed by Yelena Yemchuk for Vogue China and she is dancing with some dinosaurs. She goes by Lily Stewart and we go (by) her way, like we'd go for some summer love in winter. And all ways will remember that expression that seems to say pass your way but worship me now. We worship, from fringe to cheek and far beyond. We're the kind to do it total. And she too. She's such a lucky... [Lire la suite]

Don't Make Us Blue 'cause the Sky Seems Grey

Seized in our eyes she is. And we'd love to fly with her nights and days. Because she's got wings and we'd love to borrow them one day or another, just to see if the world is less boring from above. She at least can turn Versace totally heavenly. One mile high will be enough. Shame we couldn't see more of her face but we can already collapse in delight while reading her body language. And it's not that often that we can cover a spirit without a face, may the latter be the most delightful of all. Somehow it says Teddy... [Lire la suite]

Zilver Bullet

Looking at some digitals online, we stumbled upon those, without any name written nearby, and wondered who she is – it took a few seconds before we realized she was her. Ultimate favorite of FDIB, almost our cover girl par excellence, Zuzana Gregorova revisited. Don't exactly know when these were done, don't know when exactly. But clear things are that first we love her more than ever, second she outscores herself and that was enough for a short notice here. That's not just memories, that's how we imagine the future model to... [Lire la suite]

Brandies

Shows are over and we went back to looking at agencies websites. Swimming in this big sea, sailing against the wind (when available). Virtual trips from Latvia to Japan and from New Zealand to Argentina. Including Finland where we had the pleasing surprise to see how Brand Model Management has evolved over these last few years, in terms of roster and aesthetics. If the mastermind behind the boutique has always had his very own twist – say style – the look of the lovelies has gone from positively intriguing to full exciting,... [Lire la suite]

Barely Blooming, Blossoming, But

It's been some time we had an itchy will to wrote an article on Ina Maribo Jensen and two weeks ago or so, the i-D story – bloom, grow, blossom – turned this idea into an obsession, a priority on our to-do-list (a quite long and fascinating sheet of paper). The title is just as perfect as the pics themselves, showcasing what Ina is all about at the moment: one of the most interesting talent, turning slowly (and even a tad faster) what everyone calls potential into visual reality. No one can doubt her face would even stun a blind... [Lire la suite]

TMSRRE RELOADED

Dear potential readers, friends and foes (gotta get some more of the latter this round, or not, may be), passionarias and dilettantes, insomniacs and heavy sleepers, here is time for a revamped version of one of our favorite excercises: The Most Subjective Runway Review Ever (TMSRRE), as irrelevent and irreverent as we like it to be. Our favorites, those who can make our heart fail, some random crushes and the sweet surprises... And the opening slot finally went to Chiara Mazzoleni, not only because we wanted to have her in this... [Lire la suite]

Pulque, Mescall y Cerveza

The pun was too fun to go through the gun. Bentley Mescall (by Felix Cooper) is our number one from these ones and the competition was tough enough to let her shine full force: Mica Arganaraz (by Sebastien Faena) first of all then Kayla Scott (by Rory van Millingen) and Staz Lindes (by Bjorn Loss). Whether Carine (Roitfeld) has lost her mojo or not isn't exactly our question today and she seemingly still own enough of her past balls to offer to our eyes a bunch of delicious covers. Haven't had the otherwordly opportunity to... [Lire la suite]

Gonna Catch You Even if You Don't Fall

Can't get enough of these CK underwear stuff these days, perhaps because we only have cheap ones home and Hello Kitty socks (that are extremely fancy too). Well, the panties and bras aren't the reason why we chose this for a feature today. We picked that chic chick for the single reason that looking at her looks while listening to Billy Idol's Catch My Fall is the neatest treat, a true midday delight. We had to love that Luna Bijl babe, for that presence and prestance. And we're gladder than glad to share some Marc de Goot stuff... [Lire la suite]
