Fashion does it Better

Instill

Melodie @ Wilhelmina (NY) and Anais @ Ford (NY) Sometimes you say too much, sometimes not enough. Same here, sometimes we write too much and sometimes words are simply lacking. Words are friends some days and enemies the next morning and all this vicious circle makes hard to find the right balance. Trying to, though and we guess it happens we work it out. Drop by drop, fighting sleepless nights and meaningless dreams with the best sides of our imagination, maybe that's where the path starts and it's up to... [Lire la suite]

Do Not Know, Do Not Care

Hanna Samokhina @ Wilhelmina (NY) Do not know, do not care. What tomorrow will be but always eager to be the day after. Time goes by so slowly on one side and too fast when you think of the next deadlines in your life. Making decisions is never an easy task, it takes some extra strength and clear goals in mind to make the most important ones. As nothing is ever granted, you always get to cope with unexpected parameters and hopefully good surprises as well. Talking about good surprises,... [Lire la suite]

Enough Is Never Enough

Melodie Monrose @ Wilhelmina (NY) We already talked about this topic a few days ago, the meaning of 'doing well' in modeling during a show season and if it's still difficult to find a proper universal answer, there still might be some individual definitions for these words. Obvious and natural, and models who perfectly embody such a definition. You can certainly count Melodie Monrose among them, as the young lady just finished a fabulous season launched by Wilhelmina in New York last month (Marc Jacobs, Max... [Lire la suite]

FDIB loves and bookmarks: Wilhelmina S/S 2011 on Digital Diamonds

Watching show packages popping up and by is a night-time obsession these days as each agency is currently releasing its own show team for Spring Summer 2011. From aesthetic statements to innovative concepts, from signature styles to visual revolutions, from crazy moods to classy minimalism: this season doesn't lack creativity in New York and actually has been rising non stop over the last few years. Sometimes with the risk of seeing the packaging overshadow the proposals, the concept steal the first role to the contents. It's... [Lire la suite]

Better than Beauty

Charlotte @ Wilhelmina (NY) Sunny day today, from her to New York. Wonder if it's raining somewhere in the fashion world right now. It certainly does but no agent has been reporting it to us yet so we'll take it for a completely summery day. Warm weather, sweet atmosphere and creativity that doesn't seem to be as tired as ourselves. Note that it's pretty good when you could physically go to be but your brain is fresh as if it was still nine in the morning. Back on topic, let's talk about Charlotte and... [Lire la suite]

FDIB loves and bookmarks: Marike by Beau Grealy

Marike Le Roux @ Wilhelmina (NY) Long time we haven't officially bookmarked any blog piece on FDIB but truth is we rely a lot more on our second page, J'avoue J'aime for this kind of entries (faster and right to the point). But this occasion seemed made for FDIB as both Marike Le Roux and Beau Grealy were already featured here and when one of our favorite model works with one of our favorite photographer, it's tough not to mention it here. The story comes from Italian Flair, May 2010 issue and was spotted on Wilhelmina's blog... [Lire la suite]

Coco Young, The Portrait

Coco Young @ Eskimo, Wilhelmina (NY) Was supposed to be released last night and we've been working on this feature for more than a week already. What is so complicated in putting five pictures together, you may ask. Nothing per se, just that there is one more part and most likely another to come. Coco's career might be still young (easy pun but so true) it's already rich in events and materials. Built with the best, we'd say and everytime we want to drop a line on Ms.Young we feel the need to be as... [Lire la suite]

Coco Young, The Intro

Coco Young @ Eskimo, Wilhelmina (NY) As announced yesterday, we're starting another story in multiple parts, dedicate to Coco Young. As there are so many materials to show, so many things to say, so much to admire and get inspired by. It was even difficult to decide where to start, which pictures to use first and what would be the perfect intro. Don't know if we managed to but we're just loving Wilfredo Alexander's test. We already owe him the fabulous show package he shot for Wilhelmina and we've been... [Lire la suite]

Undercover / On the Cover

Marike Le Roux @ Wilhelmina (NY) The magazine is French and usually easy to get for us but, this time, got the tip from New York. Go figure, Paris might consider we are already Germany here. Or were we so overbooked we overlooked this ? No time for dilemmas and drama, let's just go to the point: Marike's cover and editorial on/in the new issue of Stiletto. Marike slightly hiding under her top hat but full force glowing on from the front page till the end of her story. Here is a little medley of the pages that gave us the good... [Lire la suite]

FDIB loves and bookmarks: Kristiina Wilson's Notpolas from today

Lucia Jonova and Julija Steponaviciute @ IMG (NY), Lela and Nathaline Marchett @ Wilhelmina (NY) It's quite showtime and we have to love polaroids and snapshots right now. Can't escape, can't run away from it. Though if castings for the shows are getting full-force coverage everywhere, the last set of polas that caught our eyes are actually for a magazine, taken by photographer Kristiina Wilson. The notpolas as she call them herself are lovely rectangles with wooden background and pale light that literally bites and ates the model... [Lire la suite]
